Service Description

Cet atelier de 12 semaines (10 semaines en été*) vous apprend à tracer un patron de base de corsage selon vos mesures et à le transformer pour créer vos propres hauts. Vous découvrirez les outils et le vocabulaire du patronage, la prise de mesures, la transformation des pinces, les lignes de style, l’ajustement, la confection, les boutons et boutonnières, les cols et les manches. Vous apprendrez aussi à utiliser une machine à coudre; aucune expérience n’est requise. Programme : Semaine 1 : Mesures et patron de base Semaine 2 : Couture, essayage et ajustements Semaine 3 : Transformation des pinces Semaine 4 : Pinces et lignes de style Semaine 5 : Corsage long, boutons et boutonnières Semaines 6 et 7 : Col Claudine, col chemisier ouvert et col en deux pièces Semaines 8 et 9 : Manches longues et bouffantes; préparation du projet final Semaines 10 à 12 : Création de votre propre haut *L’atelier estival dure 10 semaines, mais comprend les mêmes 36 heures de formation. Le matériel de patronage est fourni. Les participants achètent le tissu et les fournitures de leur projet final. Communiquez avec nous si vous avez des questions. --- This 12-week workshop (10 weeks in summer*) teaches you how to draft a personalized bodice block and transform it into original top designs. You will explore pattern-making tools and terminology, body measurements, dart manipulation, style lines, fitting, garment construction, buttons and buttonholes, collars, and sleeves. You will also learn sewing-machine basics, so no previous sewing experience is required. Workshop outline: Week 1: Bodice measurements and basic block Week 2: Sewing, fitting, and adjustments Week 3: Dart manipulation Week 4: Darts and style lines Week 5: Long-torso bodice, buttons, and buttonholes Weeks 6–7: Peter Pan, open-shirt, and two-piece collars Weeks 8–9: Long and puff sleeves; final-project planning Weeks 10–12: Create your own top *The summer workshop runs for 10 weeks but includes the same 36 instructional hours. Pattern-making supplies are provided. Participants purchase the fabric and materials for their final project. Contact us with any questions.

Cancellation Policy

You have 24 hrs before the first class to cancel the complete workshop. The first $90 is non-refundable after first class and within the 24 hr period. You can cancel the balance of the workshop 3 days after the first class to receive a refund of the balance. If you cancel after the 3 day period or after the second class, you will be charged 50% of the balance remaining, $495. If you would like to continue the class at a later date, you will need to purchase a new class. The cancellation fee of $495 cannot be extended as a discount or deducted from the cost of the new class. If we cancel the workshop before the start you will receive a full refund. The workshop may be canceled if we do not receive a minimum of 3 students for the workshop. If for some reason we need to cancel classes after they have started, you will refunded the balance of the workshop depending on how many classes remain. You will be notified of a workshop cancellation by email 48 hours before the beginning and will not be charged. We will send you an invite when the next class starts.
